Santa GUS is coming to town! Here's where and when Georgia Southern's mascot is flying in

Georgia Southern University's favorite feathered friend is trading out his jersey for a Santa suit.

"Santa GUS" is bringing the true blue Christmas spirit to alumni families across Georgia with a serious of fun-filled photography events. Each session includes a professional digital picture with Santa GUS, snacks and a fun GUS coloring sheet to take home. Photos will be emailed to those taking part shortly after the event.

Here's the schedule:

  1. Russell Union Ballroom on Georgia Southern's Statesboro campus at 85 Georgia Ave. from 5 to 7 p.m. on Nov. 28. Proceeds go toward the university's general scholarship fund.

  2. Burnett Hall on Georgia Southern's Savannah campus at Burnett Blvd. from 5 to 7 p.m. on Nov. 29. Proceeds go toward the university's general scholarship fund.

  3. Augusta Audi in Augusta at 4022 Washington Rd. from 5 to 7 p.m. on Dec. 8. Proceeds go toward the CSRA Scholarship Fund.

  4. Round Trip Brewing Co. in Atlanta at 1279 Seaboard Industrial Blvd. NW. from 1 to 5 p.m. on Dec. 9. Proceeds go toward the Atlanta Network Scholarship Fund. They will also be collecting donated full-sized toiletry items for residents at local homeless shelters

Each event is $15 per family. Make-your-own Santa GUS ornaments are also available starting at $12.
