They will join this year’s headliners: singer and YouTube personality Todrick Hall, rapper Rico Nasty, and the iconic drummer Sheila E.

“San Diego Pride believes LGBTQIA+ artists have always been invaluable torchbearers for the LGBTQIA+ civil rights movements providing life-saving representation of LGBTQIA+ experiences that are still not widely found in public media,” organizers wrote in a Friday news release.

“Highlighting the expression of a diverse array of LGBTQIA+ artists is essential to voicing the myriad of challenges facing our community members.”

The two-day event is scheduled to take place Saturday, July 20 and Sunday, July 21 at Balboa Park’s Marston Point.

The San Diego Pride Festival has been a staple of the region’s Pride celebrations for decades, hosting over 35,000 visitors each year. The event occurs in conjunction with the San Diego Pride Parade, which is considered the largest annual, single-day single event in the region.

This year will mark the parade’s 50th anniversary, evolving over the decades to the existing festivities from the original unpermitted marches of the 1970s.
