Samuel L. Jackson, Bruce Willis, James McAvoy & More Shatter ‘Glass’ Trailer At CinemaCon

“It’s about the time I get the title role in my motherfu**ing movie!” Samuel L. Jackson said at CinemaCon before introducing the clip to Universal/Blumhouse’s Glass, a combo follow-up to both M. Night Shyamalan’s Unbreakable and Split.

Jackson was on hand with Shyamalan and stars Bruce Willis, James McAvoy and Sarah Paulson during Universal’s presentation to exhibitors.

“Eighteen years ago I had this idea: What if comic books were based on reality? I tried to tell the story of superheros in the real world with David Dunn,” said Shyamalan, “Then two years ago, I got another crazy notion: What if the afflictions and disorders that everyone in society thinks make a person bad were actually gifts? And I created the origin story for an anarchist who could be good or bad.”

Paulson’s Dr. Ellie Staple narrated the opening. She’s a therapist who treats patients who think they’re superheros, and she’s lecturing Willis’ Dunn, Jackson’s Mr. Glass and McAvoy’s multi-personality guy. “Good for you,” McAvoy’s character responds to her. The doctor tells Dunn “you think you have super powers” as he flashes back to memories of the train he saved. Essentially, McAvoy’s alter egos team with Glass and all hell breaks loose outside the asylum.

“Some of you don’t die with bullets, some of you bend steel,” the doctor tells Glass.

Glass is set to hit theaters on January 18, 2019.
