President Trump's suggestion to prevent mass shootings by arming teachers hasn't been particularly well-received, for reasons both numerous and obvious. Who's to say that teachers will be able to respond effectively to active shooters, when, in the case of the Parkland massacre, an armed and trained deputy did little more than cower outside the building? What happens when some dumb kid makes a grab for their middle school math teacher's pistol? Will students of color be shot in classrooms by trigger-happy authority figures the way they already are everywhere else?

Samuel L. Jackson summed up some of the problems with Trump's plan in one succinct tweet.

As someone with decades of professional experience in make-believe gunfights, Jackson is sadly more qualified than President Bone Spurs to brainstorm ideas for tactical defense.
