Do you have the same opinions as everyone else when it comes to Halloween?
CHILLICOTHE — Earlier this month we asked you your opinions online on everything from candy to costumes during Halloween. Several readers weighed in and here are the results.
Trick or Treat?
A classic Halloween question resulted in an answer of treat as 94% of responders said they would rather get a treat than a trick this spooky season.
Do you carve pumpkins?
In a much closer count, 53% of people said they carve pumpkins during Halloween.
Will you be going to a haunted house this year?
Not liking to be scared 81% of people said they would not be going to a haunted house this year.
Do you believe in ghosts?
Whether it be friend or foe 53% of poll takers said they believed in ghosts.
What is your favorite horror movie?
When it comes to horror movies some people love them and some people hate them. When asked their favorite some responders answered "none" or that they "avoid this film genre". Others had a range of favorites such as The Exorcist, Nightmare on Elm Street, Halloween and the Friday the 13th series.
What is your favorite candy to receive?
Voters were given the option of peanut butter cups, M&M's, candy corn, Starburst, pretzels, Tootsie Rolls, Skittles and a write-in option. Of the multiple choice options peanut butter cups were a clear winner with a majority of the votes. Write-in votes included Milky Way, Snickers and 3 Musketeers.
Do you dress up for Halloween?
When it comes to dressing up 53% of voters said they do regularly dress up for Halloween.
Store-bought or homemade costumes?
Those costumes are usually homemade as well with 59% of people saying they prefer homemade costumes to store-bought.
What, if anything, will you be dressing up as this year?
Those dressing up this year wore a variety of costumes including characters from popular shoes and movies like Little Red Riding Hood, Peter Pan and Wendy, Alice from Wonderland and more. Other costumes included a witch, a scarecrow, a cat a pinata and a butterfly.

When ranking iconic Halloween costumes there was a clear first and last place with the remaining four choices being somewhere in the middle. Ranking best to worst resulted in the best costume, which was a witch, being ranked the lowest with a score of 2.97, a ghost was ranked number two at 3.33. a vampire came in third place with a rank of 3.39, a cat costume came in fourth place with a ranking of 3.48, a pirate costume came in fifth place with a ranking of 3.69 and finally a zombie came in last with a ranking of 4.15
