Sam Smith has a new man in his life!

The recent Academy Award winner is dating British model Jay Camilleri, a source confirms to PEOPLE.

“They’ve been hanging out and getting on great,” says the source, who adds that the relationship is still in its early stages and not yet formally exclusive.

Camilleri starred in the 2011 British reality series Dirty Sexy Things, which followed eight models as they prepared for eight shoots and culminated in an exhibition for fashion photographer Perou.

Smith, 23, has yet to speak publicly or post on social media about the relationship, which is no surprise given his feelings about going public with his brief relationship with dancer Jonathan Zeizal.

“I made a mistake by posting pictures of us on Instagram and making it seem more serious than it was,” the recently slimmed-down singer told ES Magazine last year. “I’ve learned that I need to hold off before I start getting the public involved.”
