Sam Asghari is showing his support for his estranged wife Britney Spears amid the release of her memoir.

TMZ approached the actor, 29, as he was out in Los Angeles on Thursday and asked what he thought of the pop icon calling him a “gift from God” in her book The Woman in Me, which was released on Tuesday.

The Iranian-American performer had nothing but nice things to say about his wife of 14 months’ description. “That made me smile, to be honest,” the model said.

Asghari also sung his praises of Spears’ best-selling memoir, which chronicles her journey to superstardom and the 13 years she spent in a conservatorship. “I'm freaking proud of her,” he told TMZ. “I hope she takes over the world.”

The Special Ops: Lioness star filed for divorce from the Grammy winner in August. The couple originally met on the set for her “Slumber Party” music video in 2016, became engaged in September 2021 and were married in March 2022.

As The Woman in Me was published just over two months after their divorce filing, the end of her and Asghari’s marriage is not covered in the book. The star writes primarily of meeting the model/actor and their instant chemistry.

"I have an appreciation for how stable he is," Spears added in the book. "I love that he doesn’t drink. He’s a gift from God."

Before they were married, Asghari was supportive of the “Hold Me Closer” singer as she received mental health treatment in 2019 and was in the midst of her conservatorship battle in 2021.

After Spears gave a public testimony in June 2021 to request that her father Jamie Spears be removed from the role of her conservator, a source told PEOPLE how much of a support system her boyfriend at the time had become. "Sam has been Britney's rock for years. He makes sure that she eats well and works out," they said. "She leans on him for everything. He works and has his own life too, but is around as much as he can."

The Woman in Me was published by Gallery Books, an imprint of Simon and Schuster, on Oct. 24, coming two years after her conservatorship was terminated in November 2021.
