Sam Asghari has every intention of supporting the release of Britney Spears‘ memoir, The Woman in Me, despite their pending divorce. Speaking with TMZ on Thursday, Asghari stated that he plans to head to a bookstore and pick up a copy once it’s released on Oct. 24.

When asked if he was excited for the release of his ex’s book, he replied, “No, I already read it. I’m very proud of her. She put a lot of work to it, and it was very hard. I’m definitely excited and I’m extremely proud of her. It was a really tough one … I’ll be the first one in line to buy it.”

Asghari’s comments come amid him filing for divorce from the “Stronger” singer in August after six years of dating and less than two years of marriage, citing irreconcilable differences for the dissolution of their relationship. Elsewhere in his chat with TMZ, Asghari stated that he is not dating and is focusing on his line of work.

Spears addressed the split in an Aug. 19 Instagram post, in which she danced to Janet Jackson’s 1993 track “If,” stating in the caption of the video that the split came as somewhat of a surprise.

“As everyone knows, Hesam and I are no longer together … 6 years is a long time to be with someone so, I’m a little shocked but … I’m not here to explain why because its honestly nobody’s business !!!” she wrote.

The post continued, “But, I couldn’t take the pain anymore honestly !!! In some sort of telepathic way I have been receiving so many messages that melt my heart from friends and I thank you !!! I’ve been playing it strong for way too long and my Instagram may seem perfect but it’s far from reality and I think we all know that !!! I would love to show my emotions and tears on how I really feel but some reason I’ve always had to hide my weaknesses !!!”

The Woman in Me is slated to arrive on Oct. 24.
