After winning an Academy Award for her debut film Promising Young Woman, filmmaker Emerald Fennell is back with her sophomore effort Saltburn. If you missed it in theaters when it was released in November, you can now watch Saltburn for free at home.

What Is Saltburn About?
Written and directed by Fennell, Saltburn follows Oliver Quick (Barry Keoghan), a shy and socially awkward student at Oxford University who gets caught up in the wealthy lifestyle of Felix Catton (Jacob Elordi), a fellow student who invites him to his family’s luxurious seaside estate in Saltburn, England.
The film also stars Rosamund Pike, Richard E. Grant, Alison Oliver, Archie Madekwe, Carey Mulligan and others.
Saltburn has already inspired countless memes, plenty of OMG moments and even a very specific candle based on well… bathwater.
Is Saltburn Based on a Book?
While Saltburn is an original screenplay, Fennell has said that she was inspired by the 1945 Evelyn Waugh novel, Brideshed Revisited, which tells the story of Charles Ryder and his entanglement with the Flytes, a large, wealthy family with a palatial mansion in England.
