It will be the third location of the restaurant founded by owner Scott Roberts' family in 1967. Salt Lick also features restaurants in the Austin and Dallas-Fort Worth airports.

Salt Lick is the first announced tenant for the property being developed by San Antonio-based real estate management firm LB Development. More restaurants and additional retailers will be announced at a later date.

The 9,000 square foot restaurant and patio space will feature the classic Salt Lick menu and be home to an outpost of Salt Lick Cellars, a tasting room and shop for the Salt Lick’s brand of wines and more.

Salt Lick isn’t the only brand with Austin ties that has its sights set on the town nestled in wine country. Austin company New Waterloo will soon open the Albert hotel in downtown Fredericksburg, with a food-and-beverage operation overseen by Olamaie chef-owner Michael Fojtasek.
