Salman Khan and Karan Johar are reportedly teaming up after 25 years on a film. The movie has been allegedly titled The Bull, but neither the producer nor the actor have reacted to it. As Salman Khan is celebrating his 58th birthday on December 27, 2023, Johar has penned a lengthy wish for him. He also seemingly confirmed the film with the actor.

Karan Johar and Salman Khan first worked together in the 1998 film Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. While Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, and Rani Mukerji played the key roles, Salman had a cameo as Aman in the movie. Since then, the actor and filmmaker have never collaborated on a project.

Did Karan Johar confirm The Bull with Salman Khan?

On his Instagram handle, Karan Johar shared a picture of Salman Khan from Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. In his lengthy caption, the director-producer revealed how Salman agreed to play Aman in his debut film. He wrote, “25 years ago I was at a party lost and confused…. A massive movie star came upto me and asked me why I was standing by a corner … I told him I had been to several actors for a part but was politely rejected … the superstars sister is close to me so he graciously said she had spoken highly of my script and that I should meet him the next day to narrate the film to him… In my wildest dreams, I never imagined I would even get the opportunity of a narration…”

He further revealed how the Tiger 3 star agreed to play the role after hearing the first part of the film. The reason behind his agreement was Karan’s friendship with his sister Avira and his respect for his father, Yash Johar. Karan Johar penned how he was grateful to have worked with Salman Khan on his debut. He wrote, “Gestures and stories like this just don’t happen today! Happy birthday, Salman! So much love and respect for you always.”

The filmmaker further hinted at his new project with Salman as he wrote, “Also 25 years later we will finally have a story to tell again… not saying any more than that happy happy birthday.”

As per the makers’ statement, The Bull is based on a true story. As per Indian Express, “The movie will depict the harrowing events of the terror attacks in Male, Maldives, on November 3, 1988, locally referred to as Badi Buraasfathi or Gun [Explosive] Thursday.”
