Salma Hayek Showed Her Support for Her Husband’s Ex Linda Evangelista in the Sweetest Way

If you want to surround yourself with close pals this holiday season, make it someone like Salma Hayek, who stepped up big time for supermodel Linda Evangelista. The 58-year-old fashionista is promoting her 2023 coffee-table book, Linda Evangelista Photographed by Steven Meisel, and Hayek was there to brag about her pal’s accomplishment to her Instagram followers.

“For all of you wondering what to give for Christmas presents, I have the perfect one,” Hayek gushed. “This amazing book, Linda by Steven Meisel. It is the perfect gift for absolutely everyone, especially if you like photography, fashion, or if you just like my Linda.” The 57-year-old actress then warmly embraced Evangelista, who looked a little embarrassed by all of the well-deserved praise.
What makes Hayek’s relationship with the 58-year-old fashionista so special is that they share a unique family bond: she is the stepmother to Evangelista’s 17-year-old son Augustin James. The supermodel was in a relationship with Hayek’s now-husband, Kering CEO François-Henri Pinault, from 2005 to 2006. Hayek met Pinault in 2006 and married him in 2009. Their union also produced their 16-year-old daughter Valentina Paloma, who is quite close in age to her half-brother, Augustin — and that’s how a healthy blended family bond has formed over the years.
Evangelista recently offered personal details into her loving relationship with Hayek to Vogue, noting, “I was sick and Salma got on the plane with her daughter, came here, and made Thanksgiving dinner. [She] spent the day in the kitchen and cooked it herself. No help. The kids helped her at the end. She made a feast—a beautiful, beautiful meal. I had told her that I wasn’t going to have Thanksgiving, I wasn’t feeling well. And she said, ‘Oh yes you are. I am coming.‘ And poof, she was here.”
That special friendship probably made life a lot better for both of their kids, who not only feel like a close family unit, but will remember those special moments forever. Everyone needs a friend like Salma Hayek in their lives.
