Salma Hayek Pinault to Receive Giving Tree Award at the 2023 Baby2Baby Gala: 'So Honored'

Past honorees of the award include Kim Kardashian, Vanessa Bryant, Jessica Alba and Drew Barrymore, among others

Salma Hayek Pinault will be this year's recipient of the Giving Tree Award at the Baby2Baby Gala presented by Paul Mitchell.

On Thursday, the non-profit revealed that they will honor the Oscar-nominated actress with the award, which is given annually to a female public figure who has demonstrated exceptional commitment to helping the lives of children in need across the world.

Hayek, 57, is receiving the award for her efforts in championing the rights of women, children and immigrants by lobbying Congress, partnering with Gucci for Chime For Change, visiting Syrian refugee camps with UNICEF and remaining engaged in several leading nonprofit organizations, amongst many others contributions.

"It's an honor to pay tribute to Salma Hayek Pinault with this year's Giving Tree Award for her extensive work on behalf of vulnerable children and families," Baby2Baby Co-CEOs Norah Weinstein and Kelly Sawyer Patricof said in a statement.

"For her commitment to combating social injustices and disaster relief efforts to her work supporting refugee children, Salma exemplifies everything that this award represents. We applaud how she has used her platform to increase resources and opportunities for women and girls, and we are thrilled to highlight her extraordinary commitment to these causes," they added.

Hayek also released a statement, saying, "I am so honored to be receiving the Giving Tree Award from Baby2Baby. My 39 years of involvement in supporting the wellbeing of women and children give me a deep appreciation and admiration for their heartfelt commitment and efficiency to get the job done."

"I am very proud to share their mission and eager to keep learning from these remarkable women," Hayek added.

Hayek, who is mom to daughter Valentina, 15, with husband François-Henri Pinault, is one of many moms who have received this honor.

Past honorees include Kim Kardashian, Chrissy Teigen, Vanessa Bryant, Kerry Washington, Gwyneth Paltrow, Jessica Alba, Jennifer Garner and Drew Barrymore.

Sponsors for this event will include Paul Mitchell, City National Bank and Volvo Car USA. The gala will take place November 11 in Los Angeles.
