Salem's Northern Lights Theatre Pub to offer free movie screenings of 'Barbie,' other films

Northern Lights Theatre Pub in Salem will show some movies for free this weekend as part of a promotion with Pluto TV. The theater is located at 3893 Commercial St.

The promotion is part of Pluto TV’s Free Movie Weekend, which it says is designed to help independent theaters across the country.

Everyone who gets a seat for one of the movies at Northern Lights also will receive a free small popcorn and other gifts from Pluto TV.

Seats for the movies will be on a first come, first served basis. To get a seat, people can come to the box office at the theater any day this week and receive an assigned seat. They are encouraged to come to the theater about 30 minutes before their movie showing to receive their free popcorn.

Customers can come to the theater before the showings to receive a seat if there are any remaining.

Tickets for the free showings at Northern Lights will not be available online.

The schedule for free showings of the movies is:

Saturday

  • Barbie 12:40 p.m., 3:10 p.m. and 8:25 p.m.

  • Blue Beetle 12:00 p.m., 2:40 p.m. and 8 p.m.

  • TMNT Mutant Mayhem 1 p.m., 3:50 p.m. and 8:45 p.m.

Sunday

  • Barbie 12:40 p.m. and 3:10 p.m.

  • Blue Beetle 12:00 p.m. and 2:40 p.m.

  • TMNT Mutant Mayhem 1:30 p.m. and 3:50 p.m.

Admission will still be charged for some showings at the theater this weekend.
