SAG-AFTRA Strike Signs, Scene From the Picket Lines

The first day of the SAG-AFTRA strike kicked off with plenty of commotion and loads of signage.
SAG-AFTRA and WGA members across the United States rallied outside the offices of the studio giants to let everyone know the labor force would not be going to work today, or for any foreseeable future date, until a fair and equitable contract agreement had been met. SAG President Fran Drescher met her colleagues outside Netflix Studios, and had some words for Bob Iger.

In fact, lots of picketers had feelings about the Disney CEO’s recent statements, and that was reflected in a plethora of Iger-centric signs.
Despite the heat in Los Angeles, showrunner Mike Schur and actors Sean Astin and Ike Barinholtz marched outside of the Paramount lot. Actors Mandy Moore and Ben Schwartz were seen outside of Disney. Rosario Dawson was seen outside of Fox Studios and Matt Dallas, Chloe Fineman, Kaitlyn Dever and Joey King joined SAG-AFTRA and WGA members on the picket line outside of Warner Bros. Studios.
In New York City, the rain didn’t stop the stars which included “Ted Lasso” star Jason Sudeikis, Merritt Wever (“Run”), Heléne Yorke (“The Other Two”) and “Severance” star Zach Cherry.
Outside of 30 Rockefeller Plaza strike captain Richard Masser told Variety, “The last time we were out on this [master] contract, the actors, we were out for five weeks… but the last time we were out on another contract, which was the commercial contract, we were out for six months, and the difference was communication. So I’m hoping that our employers on this contract are going to wake up, smell the coffee and come back to the table and talk to us.”
