‘Sacramento’ movie featuring Kristen Stewart, Michael Cera to premiere next week

(FOX40.COM) — Michael Angarano’s film “Sacramento,” starring himself, Micael Cera, Kristen Stewart and Maya Erskine is set to premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival on June 8.

Part of the filming for the movie took place in spring 2023 at various locations around California’s capital city, including Old Sacramento and Gunther’s Ice Cream shop.

According to a summary on the film festival website, the movie follows two friends on a spontaneous road trip from Southern California to Sacramento.

Flighty and unpredictable Ricky (Michael Angarano) is kicked out of his convalescent home following the death of his father and surprises his best friend, Glenn (Michael Cera), by forcing him on a road trip across California. Unbeknownst to him, Glenn is about to start a family with his wife Rosie (Kristen Stewart) and is sick of Ricky’s inability to grow out of their past shenanigans. In the worn yellow seats of Glenn’s old college car, the two men reckon with the mistakes of their past and the questions lurking in their future.

The film is approximately 84 minutes long and will be a part of the festival’s US Narrative Competition.

In addition to prestige, major film festivals offer movies a chance to be seen and picked up by a distributor for wider release. “Sacramento” currently has no distributor or set date for wider release.
