Sabrina Carpenter Celebrates 25th Birthday in Yellow Minidress (from Depop!) Inspired by “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days”

Sabrina Carpenter’s birthday look was straight out of a rom-com.

After dropping “Espresso,” playing her first Coachella and then debuting at the Met Gala with her boyfriend Barry Keoghan, there was only one thing left for Carpenter to do — and that was to celebrate her 25th birthday in style.

For her party in Brooklyn, N.Y., on May 11, the Girl Meets World alum wore a silk butter yellow minidress channeling Kate Hudson as Andie Anderson in How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days.

Like the famous 2003 dress designed by Carolina Herrera and costume designer Karen Patch, Carpenter's featured a low-cut neckline and open back. The only differences were that the singer’s was a mini version, had sequined straps and panels and her stylist, Jared Ellner, sourced it from Depop, an online shopping platform for vintage and second-hand clothing.

Carpenter added an extra hint of bling with a W. Salamoon necklace featuring a canary diamond. She also kept her blonde hair in a feathery style with curtain bangs and wore her signature makeup (a.k.a. blushed cheeks and lined lips) by Carolina Gonzalez.

If Carpenter was Andie, Keoghan, 31, was easily Matthew McConaughey’s Benjamin Barry in a rolled-up button-up, which can be seen in some of the clips of the party shared on social media.

Keoghan was actually the one in charge of putting the entire bash together (how sweet!).

A source told PEOPLE that the party was held at DUMBO House in Brooklyn with about 100 friends, including rapper Ice Spice.

According to the insider, the event space was decked out for the occasion with blue, yellow and white balloons. Guests dined on an array of food options and enjoyed a custom drink menu, which, of course, featured espresso martinis, presumably in honor of Carpenter's new single, which is currently charting at the No. 2 spot on the Billboard Global 200 chart.

There was also a cake with a meme poking fun at Leonardo DiCaprio’s love life — specifically, that he doesn't date women over the age of 25. The source told PEOPLE Carpenter blew out her candles before sharing a sweet kiss with Keoghan.

This marks a new milestone in the couple’s relationship since they were first linked in December 2023. They've been fairly discreet about their romance until they made their red carpet debut at the March 10 Vanity Fair Oscar Party, where Keoghan was spotted with his “Sabrina” friendship bracelet.

Carpenter and Keoghan attended the May 6 Met Gala separately but stopped to pose for photos at the top of the steps.
