The Buffalo Sabres announced the re-signing of defenceman Jake McCabe on a two-year, $5.7-million deal, avoiding an arbitration hearing set for August 4th.

The 25-year-old was selected by the Sabres in the second-round of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft, and has laced up for 274 games with the club. Last season he netted four goals, and 14 points in 59 games.

The original player ask was $4.3-million, and the team split the difference and landed at $2.85-million yearly. With McCabe signed, the Sabres have one unsigned RFA left in goaltender Linus Ullmark.
