‘Wayne’s World’ Blasts Mike Myers, Dana Carvey Back To Basement On ‘SNL 40′

There was plenty of nostalgia throughout Sunday’s 40-year anniversary show for Saturday Night Live, perhaps inevitable in a retrospective covering four decades of pop culture.

One of the more entertaining blasts from the past sent us back to a certain Illinois basement, where cable-access (geez, remember that?) stars Garth and Wayne, played by Mike Myers and Dana Carvey, ushered us back to 1992 or so with their own top 10 of what’s rad about SNL itself.

No. 2 on the list, not to play spoiler, is executive producer Lorne Michaels, whose presence there spawned an extensive riff mimicking the SNL empire’s overlord, wine glass in hand.

What did you think of the piece? Did you like the show? Let us know.
