Washington Post Writer Who Blasted Amy Schumer’s ‘Racist’ Jokes Never Saw Her Perform
Talk about not doing your homework.
Washington Post contributor Dr. Stacey Patton wrote a scathing piece Monday calling out Amy Schumer‘s “racist” jokes, but apparently her opinion wasn’t formed by first-hand or even second-hand experience.
When asked whether she’d ever watched Shumer’s TV show or seen her perform in person by comedy site the Interro Bang, Patton answered “nope, not at all.”

Her piece, which suggested Schumer should run on the same presidential ticket as Donald Trump, was based off a piece she read in The Guardian examining Schumer’s “blind spot” on race.
Patton (and co-author David J. Leonard) characterized Schumer’s audience as predominately white, even without the benefit of ever seeing that audience in person.

The Washington Post did not immediately respond to TheWrap’s request for comment.
