A Seattle Lawyer Got Sir Mix-A-Lot’s Old Cell Number, And Hilarity Has Ensued
Johnathan Nichols, a budding lawyer from Seattle, Wash., is embroiled in quite the hysterical mix-up. After receiving calls from luxury car dealerships, links from unsigned artists and several raunchy sexts for a few months, Nichols realized that something was up.
It turns out that he was now the proud owner of a cell phone number that previously belonged to 90’s rapper, booty-aficionado and Seattle resident, Sir Mix-A-Lot.
“[Nichols is] probably getting insane pictures, photos, and strange ‘Happy Birthday’ songs and all kinds of stuff,” Sir Mix-A-Lot told ABC News. “If he’s a lawyer, he sifts through those calls, he will find clients. Trust me. A lot of them.”
According to The Seattle Times, Nichols has found many of the offers for cars, concert tickets and backstage passes he receives pretty tempting, but he just finds the entire thing extremely funny. When them punks would rather toss and leave the troublesome phone number, Nichols has decided to stay and play by keeping it for ice-breaker purposes.
“When interviewers have asked me, ‘What’s something interesting that no one else knows?’ or when people I meet working political campaigns tell me about meeting Bill Clinton, I always say, ‘I have Sir Mix-A-Lot’s old phone number. It’s a total mic drop.”
Mix, whose real name is Anthony Ray, has offered the young lawyer some advice to alleviate some of the issues that his anaconda don’t want.
“Just to help him offload some of this pressure, he can always forward the ladies’ pics to me and I’ll take that off his hands so he won’t have to deal with that,” he said.
