Samantha Bee Channels ‘Star Wars’ in ‘Full Frontal’ Trailer
A trailer for TBS’ new late-night talk show “Full Frontal with Samantha Bee” takes plenty of inspiration from “Star Wars.”
The teaser opens with yellow lettering against a black space background before going into a cantina similar to the one Luke Skywalker visits in “Star Wars: A New Hope.” Once inside Bee, dressed like a Jedi, explains her weekly series while also struggling to turn off her laser sword.
After slaughtering most of the bar’s patrons, she comforts one and continues to describe her show.
“Anyway, if you like smart, edgy satire about world events then you are going to love my show,” Bee says.
At New York Comic Con last month, Bee talked about seeing a Vanity Fair photo spread on late night hosts which included only men.
“I got so angry. I was just like f— you,” she saud. “I think people are feeling exhausted by it,” she said. “Can’t we just have a f—— woman’s face in that lineup. Just one time – please?”
“Full Frontal with Samantha Bee” premieres in February.
