‘Queen of Versailles’ Star, David Siegel’s Daughter, Dies at 18
Victoria Siegal, the daughter of David and Jackie Siegel, who were the subjects of the documentary “The Queen of Versailles,” has died. She was 18.
Victoria Siegal was found unresponsive at the family’s home in Windermere, Fla. on Saturday, the Orlando Sentinel reports. She was rushed to a nearby hospital and pronounced dead. The cause of death is currently being determined by a medical examiner.
Jackie Siegal announced her daughter’s death in a Facebook post on Sunday.
“It is with great sadness that we ask you to respect our privacy during this tragic time and the loss of our beloved daughter, Victoria,” Jackie Siegal wrote. “Thank you all for your prayers and for your support. As more information comes out, the family will share it; until that time, there is no comment.”
The Siegal family was the focus of Lauren Greenfield’s 2012 documentary, “The Queen of Versailles.” The movie detailed their financial struggles as they built a second 90,000-square-foot mansion, called Versailles House. David Siegal is the founder of the Orlando-based time-share company Westgate Resorts, and owns the Westgate Las Vegas Resort and Casino and the Cocoa Beach Pier.
David Siegel sued Greenfield for “false and defamatory statements,” but lost the suit.
Victoria is survived by her parents and seven siblings.
