Fox sent the Internet into a full-fledged frenzy back in March when they announced both David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson are set to reprise their roles on the beloved drama, in a new a six-part limited series run.

Now the X-Files fandom must be hyperventilating with excitement because on Tuesday the TV powers-that-be have released new never-before-seen scenes from the highly anticipated revival.

In the new teaser trailer above, fans can catch a glimpse of Mulder (Duchovny) and Scully (Anderson) exploring a dark room armed with their guns and signature flashlights. (We've already re-watched the brief four-second scene more times than we can count!)

The network also announced via their X-Files Twitter handle that starting today they'll be counting down the 201 days until the 2016 revival by revisiting an episode a day of the original series.

For all those who do not feel like counting 201 days ahead on a calendar, this means that the new episodes of The X-Files will debut January 24, 2016 on Fox.
