Fox Business Network scored its biggest ratings in its eight-year history when it hosted a Republican presidential debate in November. The next day it proceeded to mark its most-watched business day ever. So on a day when the GOP is plastered all over cable news with reaction to Donald Trump’s ban-the-Muslims tirade, FBN has been announced as the host network for another faceoff of Trump, Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio, et al.

Business Network will host the event on January 14 at the North Charleston Coliseum and Performing Arts Center in North Charleston, SC. That’s two days after President Obama’s final State of the Union Address, which will give the candidates no shortage of fresh meat to gnaw upon. It’s also three days before a Democratic debate, so expect some revenge from that side of the aisle. FBN has yet to announce moderators or entry criteria for this latest free-for-all, saying those and other details will be unveiled closer to the date.

All this comes as Cruz is riding a new wave of popularity in Iowa, with a new Monmouth University poll showing him as front-runner in the state for the first time, though a new poll by CNN — which, likely not coincidentally, is hosting the next GOP debate on December 15 — begs to differ.
