Biggest Loser Trainer Bob Harper Steps Up as Host, Replacing Alison Sweeney

Veteran Biggest Loser trainer Bob Harper has gained a new job title — host.

Harper will lord over the upcoming Season 17 of NBC’s weight-loss competition series, succeeding Alison Sweeney, who last month announced that she was leaving after 13 consecutive cycles.

“I’m super excited about taking the position of host on The Biggest Loser, says Harper, who will continue to offer his training expertise to contestants at various points throughout the season. “I’ve been with the show since Season 1 so I know all of the ins and outs, and let me tell you, the weigh-in room is going to be a completely different ballgame with me at the steering wheel.”

Also as part of Season 17 (which begins production this month), Dolvett Quince and Jennifer Widerstrom both are returning, training eight teams of two in an exciting return to team-versus-team competition.
