Anand Tucker, Sharon Maguire Launch Seven Stories with All3Media Backing

CAMBRIDGE, England — Anand Tucker and Sharon Maguire have launched television drama company Seven Stories, with the support of All3Media. Based in London, the company will develop and produce for the U.K. and U.S. markets, and already has projects in development with broadcasters on both sides of the Atlantic.

Tucker’s credits include as producer on “Girl with a Pearl Earring” and director on “Hilary and Jackie.” Most recently, Tucker directed the first four episodes of Channel 4 series “Indian Summers.” Maguire directed “Bridget Jones’s Diary,” and is in development on the third movie in the franchise.

Tucker and Maguire are joined by two development and production executives — Colleen Woodcock and Jo McClellan — who serve as creative directors. Woodcock has been head of creative affairs at Pathe Productions since 2006, where she has overseen development and production of all Pathe UK films, including “Slumdog Millionaire,” “127 Hours,” “The Iron Lady,” “Philomena” and “Selma.” Before her tenure at Pathe, she was head of development at Qwerty Films. She began her career in L.A., developing films such as “The Usual Suspects.”

McClellan joins from pay TV operator Sky, where she worked as a executive producer on drama series, overseeing projects like “The Tunnel,” which won Stephen Dillane an International Emmy last year, “Dracula,” and “The Last Panthers.” Previously McClellan spent 10 years at Film4 in development on films such as “Submarine” and “Attack the Block.”

“After spending the last few years working in film and television in Los Angeles, we are delighted to return to our roots in the U.K. and launch a well-resourced television drama company with the backing of All3Media,” Tucker said. “British and American television offer great opportunities right now to tell unexpected, compelling and fascinating stories. As the barriers between film and television are becoming increasingly fluid, we’re excited to be bringing the relationships that we’ve built over the years across both media to the slate we’ve been building. All3Media are hugely ambitious in the scripted arena, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to be working with them.”

Stephen Lambert, who will be the non-executive chairman of Seven Stories, said: “My main focus will continue to be Studio Lambert, especially our new drama department run by Sue Hogg, but if I can provide some assistance to Seven Stories as it becomes an established drama producer that will be terrific.”

All3Media chief executive, Jane Turton, said: “This is another step in our commitment to growing All3’s scripted interests, which so far this year have included the acquisition of Neal Street Productions, the appointment of Michele Buck at Company Pictures and the launch of Studio Lambert drama.”
