Aaron Paul to Star in, Produce Hulu Drama ‘The Way’

Aaron Paul will star opposite Michelle Monaghan and produce Hulu drama “The Way,” the streaming service announced on Wednesday.

“The Way” examines a family at the center of a controversial movement struggling with relationships, marriage and power, with each episode taking an in-depth look at what it means to choose between the life we live and the life we want. The 10-episode series is slated to premiere this winter.

The actor, best known for his three-time Emmy-winning run on “Breaking Bad,” will play Monaghan’s husband, Eddie Cleary, a man with a wayward past who converts to a controversial movement. He suffers a crisis of faith when all that he’s come to accept as truth in his life is fundamentally challenged.

Creator Jessica Goldberg’s new series comes from Universal Television and Jason Katims‘ True Jack Productions. Goldberg will write and serve as executive producer along with Katims and Michelle Lee of True Jack Productions.

Additionally, Paul’s production company, Lucid Road Productions, has signed a first-look deal with Universal Television.

Aside from voicing a character on animated comedy “BoJack Horseman,” “The Way” will be Paul’s first major TV project since he was last seen on AMC playing Jesse Pinkman opposite Bryan Cranston‘s Walter White on “Breaking Bad.” The role earned him 3 Emmy Awards, making him the first three-time Emmy winner in the drama supporting actor category.
