RZA To Receive The 2024 NAMM Innovation Award At The 39th Annual TEC Awards

RZA will be honored with the Innovation Award at The NAMM Show’s 2024 TEC Awards in light of his cultural contributions.
The Wu-Tang Clan founder has been named as the latest recipient of the award, which “honors individuals that have set the highest standards of excellence in the creative application of recording technology.”
“RZA’s formidable body of work and talent is unquestionable,” said John Mlynczak, NAMM president and CEO. “His legacy of accomplishments and lasting power on music inspires many music makers beyond Hip-Hop and he deserves this high recognition.”
The 39th TEC Awards will take place on Saturday, Jan. 27 at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, Ca. The event will take place as part of the NAMM Show, and include live music, a discussion titled Innovate and Elevate: Exploring DJ Technology with DJ Hapa, and a special performance by rising Hip-Hop artist Blimes.
Presented by NAMM as part of its annual music trade show, the TEC Awards will also coincide with the Parnelli Awards and She Rocks Awards, both of which are scheduled to take place in the days leading up to the event.
RZA becomes the first Hip-Hop artist to receive the TEC Innovation Award, with fellow musical legends Stevie Wonder, Herbie Hancock, and Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis being given the NAMM TEC Les Paul Innovation Award, as the honor was previously named.
Following his appearance at the 2024 TEC Awards, the Staten Island rep will join Raekwon and The Colorado Symphony for a pair of shows celebrating Raekwon’s iconic debut solo album Only Built 4 Cuban Linx. The shows are scheduled to take place on Feb. 16 and Feb. 17 at Denver’s Boettcher Concert Hall.
