Ryley Tate Wilson, the Montgomery teen who caught the world’s attention on season 23 of NBC’s “The Voice,” has all-new reasons to celebrate his rising career.

First off, his new song “Like I Love You” will be out May 10, from Capitol Records.

“I’m super, super excited,” Ryley Tate said. “I’d written the song a good bit ago. I’m really happy to finally get it released.”

Former "The Voice" celebrity coach Niall Horan, left, will have Montgomery teen singer Ryley Tate Wilson open for him at two concerts in June.

He described it as a very vulnerable artist song, with a folk-pop sound. According to Ryley Tate's Instagram @its_ryleytate, he wrote it in one burst while sitting in his closet, and it became one of his most cherished songs.

“It’s definitely a slower ballad, for sure,” said Ryley Tate, son of Capt. Robert T. Wilson of Montgomery Fire Rescue and homeschool teacher mom Kelley Wilson.

That leads to the second big chunk of news. This summer, he’ll be singing that single and at least a couple more of his unreleased originals to open for his former coach on “The Voice,” Niall Horan.

“Writing is really my passion, so getting to perform songs that mean a lot to me is a lot more fun to me,” Ryley Tate said.

The concerts are June 3 at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee, and June 8 at Jiffy Lube Live in Bristow, Virginia.

“Both of them are amazing venues,” Ryley Tate said. “All my friends bought tickets to the Nashville show, so a whole bunch of people are going to be out for that.”

Outside of “The Voice,” these concerts will have the biggest audiences of Ryley Tate’s career so far.

“Jiffy Lube Live is going to be the biggest. I think it’s like over 30,000 people there,” Ryley Tate said. “I’m a little nervous, but not really.”

About a month after the Horan concerts, Ryley Tate will have one — possibly two — more firsts in his life. He’ll turn 17 in July.

“Still no driver’s license,” he said. “I just haven’t got around to it… This summer, I will definitely have my driver’s license.”

Sure, he wants a Grammy and a number one song. What recording artist wouldn’t? As for his other attainable goals, Ryley Tate said he’d love to release more of the original music he’s been writing, put out a full album, and go on tour.

“I’d love to have a song chart. That’s always been a dream,” he said.
