The Ryder Cup follows the end of the 2023 PGA season, which ended last month with the PGA Tour Championship. The Ryder Cup is held every two years, with the venue alternating between courses in the United States and Europe.

The U.S. Ryder Cup team this year is led by captain Zach Johnson, and also features stars like Scottie Scheffler, Jordan Spieth, Brooks Koepka and Wyndham Clark.

The European Ryder Cup team is led by English golfer Luke Donald, who will captain a squad that also includes athletes like Rory McIlroy, Jon Rahm, Justin Rose and Viktor Hovland.

The Ryder Cup is named after the English businessman Samuel Ryder who donated the inaugural trophy. NBC has held the Ryder Cup rights since 1991 and recently extended their deal until 2030.
