Update: Trista Sutter has been reunited with her husband Ryan Sutter and children Maxwell, 16, and Blakesley, 15, and has officially opened up about her recent journey.

"Geez people. Can't a girl have a nervous breakdown/trial separation/midlife crisis/death/divorce in peace around here?!" Trista penned on Instagram on May 25 alongside a snap of her with her family on a beach. "In all seriousness, for those concerned, I'm safe and sound, happy and healthy, in love and grateful. For those who'd rather focus on being critical and searching way too hard for darkness, good luck with that."

The former Bachelorette then went on to explain, "An opportunity for perspective and personal growth presented itself and with the unconditional support of my family and friends, I chose myself and betterment, knowing that my stay-at-home-mom job and my kids end-of-the-school-year needs were in the best, most capable hands."

"My stoic husband who usually chooses privacy over posting, decided to share his love for me in messages that would find me in my travels. We look at Instagram like a digital diary. Most of the time, the world doesn’t pay too much attention. This time, he couldn’t say anything right and just about every news outlet picked up his 'cryptic/confusing/attention-seeking/dramatic' pictures and captions." she added before noting, "He doesn’t owe anyone any explanation or require permission to post what he wants to post and share what he wants to share. 💯 If you want to know the rest of the story, I will share in due time. For now, it’s back to our regularly scheduled programming - from a beach in Mexico! 🇲🇽 🏝️🤿 After all, nervous breakdowns and separations require much needed rest and relaxation! 😎"

Welp. That's that on that!

Even during Bachelor Nation's off-season, there's truly so much news surrounding the franchise that requires a debrief. First things first: Jenn Tran is the new Bachelorette, Joan Vassos is the first-ever Golden Bachelorette, and Golden Bachelor Gerry Turner has split from Theresa Nist after three months of marriage. And, if that wasn't enough, the first-ever Bachelorette, Trista Sutter, is making headlines after her husband, Ryan Sutter, posted a series of black and white photos on Instagram earlier this month.

On May 11, Ryan posted a black and white photo of Trista overlooking the ocean, writing, "They say that absence makes the heart grow fonder. I can think of only a handful of days I have not, at minimum, spoken to this incredible woman. She is the love of my life and my best friend. I cannot imagine loving her any more or any more fondly. But I guess we’re gonna find out…. I miss her already."

He also posted a tribute to her on Mother's Day, hinting at her absence again. "I know you wish you were here for Mother’s Day. We wish you were too," he started. "But sometimes being a mom means letting go of their hands, granting independence and stimulating their courageous spirit."

Then, on May 17, Ryan posted a pic of him and Trista on Instagram and penned a lengthy caption about missing her:

"I really wish I could talk to you. Ask you how you’re doing? How was your day. I’d really like to hear your voice - just for a minute. So many times I’ve called without much to say, not realizing how lucky I was or how much I’d miss the opportunity if it were gone.

I want to know how you’re doing. I want to support and encourage and cheer you on. I want to be there for you. But I can’t. And that’s ok cause I know you need this time - time to discover yourself again.

So I’ll be here for you instead. I’ll be here when you get back. I’ll be here to listen to you, to smile with you, maybe cry with you - I’ll be here to love you… I’ll be here… forever."

Fans took to the comments section of his posts to voice their concerns for the couple. One fan wrote, "What is going on here? Concerned..."

"Why do people talk cryptic? What is going on??" another fan added, while someone else chimed in, "What’s going on are they separated having problems? I hope not and they work things out such a great love story."

Once Bachelor Nation spiraled over his series of posts, Ryan clarified everything with a solo black and white selfie on May 17. "I write what is on my mind at the moment. I write my feelings without regard for how they will be interpreted and with absolutely no intent to deceive or mislead anyone - that is the farthest thing from my mind," he wrote before clarifying, "Trista is fine. We are fine. We’re great. Trista is at a place in life where she is searching a bit."

The Bachelorette alum continued, "An opportunity presented itself that may help her on that quest. With her family’s support, she has taken it. Part of that process means that she is temporarily inaccessible to us. I miss her. We miss her."

While Bachelor Nation is worried about Trista's whereabouts, some eagle-eyed fans theorize that she might be filming a reality show with fellow Bachelorette alum, Ali Manno. She posted a screenshot from a FaceTime call with her husband, Kevin, and her children, writing in part, "Thank you for holding down the fort and supporting me in this @kevinmanno. Don’t get too used to the house being so clean while I’m gone. I’ll be back to mess it up before you know it 🤪 Love you!!!"

Ryan confirmed that Trista "is fine," and at the time of this report, there's no confirmation on whether she's filming a reality show. Wishing her well on her journey either way!
