Ryan Seacrest Talks About a Possible TV Reunion With Simon Cowell

The dream may finally be coming true. Friday on Ellen, Ryan Seacrest talked about maybe, possibly, but probably not, working with his American Idol co-star Simon Cowell. Seacrest and Cowell last shared the Idol stage when Cowell returned for the series finale in 2016, but before that, it hadn’t been since Cowell quit the show in 2010. But Ellen DeGeneres had a suggestion that would get the dynamic duo back together.

“Nick Cannon officially left America’s Got Talent, and it’s rumored that you’re going to be the new host,” DeGeneres said.

“That’s a rumor,” Seacrest replied, adding, “Nick Cannon, I don’t know if he officially left.”

Cannon has officially left AGT, but there’s another roadblock preventing Seacrest and Cowell from reliving their Idol glory: Seacrest hasn’t been offered the job.

But the world can keep its collective fingers crossed that the two will once again grace the same stage.

Seacrest said of working with Cowell again, “I never thought the stars would, and they probably wouldn’t ever align for the two of us to be on TV together. But that would be entertaining. I miss Simon. He’s a lot of fun to work with.”
