Ryan Seacrest Makes Wheel of Fortune Debut in First Promo — Watch

Seacrest…in! Ahead of his debut as the new Wheel of Fortune host, Ryan Seacrest is appearing alongside iconic letter turner Vanna White in a new ABC promo.

The promo first aired during Monday’s episode of American Idol, which also featured a special appearance from White, who will return to Wheel after a highly publicized renegotiation of her contract.

“A legend, a household name, a superstar named Vanna White is making a cameo on American Idol,” Seacrest teased earlier that day on Good Morning America. “She’s watched for years, and she’s going to co-host a little bit with me.”

Seacrest, whose first episode airs in September 2024, is taking over hosting duties from Pat Sajak, who has been synonymous with the game show since he took over for former host Chuck Woolery in 1981.

Sajak’s final Wheel of Fortune will air on Friday, June 7, TVLine has confirmed. The longtime host taped his farewell episode — which doubles as the show’s Season 41 finale — on Friday, April 5.

“I’m truly humbled to be stepping into the footsteps of the legendary Pat Sajak,” Seacrest said in a statement when he first announced as Sajak’s replacement in June 2023. “I can say, along with the rest of America, that it’s been a privilege and pure joy to watch Pat and Vanna on our television screens for an unprecedented 40 years, making us smile every night and feel right at home with them. Pat, I love the way you’ve always celebrated the contestants and made viewers at home feel at ease. I look forward to learning everything I can from you during this transition.”
