Ryan Reynolds To Do Some Pokemon Sleuthing In ‘Detective Pikachu’

Ryan Reynolds is set to join the world of Pokemon in the forthcoming Detective Pikachu from Legendary.

Deadline has learned that the Deadpool star will join Justice Smith in the live-action adaption of the popular media franchise of creatures and monsters as the titular Pikachu. The project was originally tipped by Deadline in summer 2016 during the Pokemon Go mobile game craze and will be directed by Rob Letterman with a script by Nicole Perlman and Alex Hirsch.

Universal Pictures, Legendary’s distribution partner, will release the live-action film outside Japan, where Toho has rights.
