MIKE JOY: And we're going to go by iRacing at Talladega, but we want to begin this program with some breaking news. We are joined in studio by the driver of the Roush Fenway number 6 Ford, Ryan Newman, who has a kind of long awaited but very special announcement to share with us and with you. Hi, Ryan.

RYAN NEWMAN: Hey, Mike. How are you?

MIKE JOY: Perfect. How about you?

RYAN NEWMAN: Doing good, doing good.

MIKE JOY: And what's ahead for us?

RYAN NEWMAN: Everything by the sounds of things. You know, I I'm so excited and thankful all at the same time, excited to be healthy and at some point get back in the race car when the world starts turning again, and thankful for all the people and support that I've got. Friends, family, fans, you name it that have prayed for me and given me this multitude of miracles that has given me this opportunity to get back in the seat at some point.

MIKE JOY: Now you say at some point, does this mean that when NASCAR returns to the track, which could be as early as May 17th we're hearing, that you will be behind the wheel?

RYAN NEWMAN: That's the absolute plan for sure. Yeah, I'm healthy I've been blessed with another layer of this situation giving me more time to heal, and I look forward to being back in the seat for sure.
