Ryan Murphy Reveals ‘Grotesquerie’ FX Horror Drama Series With Niecy Nash-Betts, Courtney B. Vance & Lesley Manville – Watch Teaser

A Friday afternoon surprise from Ryan Murphy. The prolific creator, writer, director and producer unexpectedly announced a new series on Instagram — a horror drama titled Grotesquerie, starring Niecy Nash-Betts, Courtney B. Vance and Lesley Manville. He also dropped a teaser for the series which is expected to start production soon for a fall premiere at FX. You can watch below.

Murphy’s all-text video includes some audio of Nash-Betts character, in which she says “I don’t know when it started, I can’t put my finger on it, but it’s different now,” says Nash-Betts’ character. “There’s been a shift, like something’s opening up in the world — a kind of hole that descends into a nothingness.

“You say, ‘Well, hon, evil has always existed,’” that “things are getting better, there’s never been a better time to be alive!’” she continues, but “it’s not getting better! Something’s happening around us, and nobody sees it but me.”

No other details of the series have been revealed.

Nash-Betts is coming off h-er recent Emmy win for Outstanding Supporting Actress Series for her performance in Murphy’s Dahmer-Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story at Netflix.
