Ryan Murphy on Friday suddenly unveiled his future plans for Niecy Nash-Betts, who very recently grabbed gold for her role as Glenda in the prolific producer’s Dahmer — Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story.

Via Instagram, Murphy dropped a teaser for Grotesquerie, a new horror drama that will premiere this fall on FX.

The all-text video, which is punctuated by in-character audio from Nash-Betts, reveals the newly-minted Emmy winner’s casting alongside two-time Emmy winner Courtney B. Vance (Murphy’s The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story, Lovecraft Country) and Academy Award nominee Lesley Manville (Phantom Thread).

“I don’t know when it started, I can’t put my finger on it, but it’s different now,” Nash-Betts’ character can be heard saying, presumably into a telephone. “There’s been a shift, like something’s opening up in the world — a kind of hole that descends into a nothingness.

“You say, ‘Well, hon, evil has always existed,'” that “things are getting better, there’s never been a better time to be alive!'” she continues, but “it’s not getting better! Something’s happening around us, and nobody sees it but me.”

No plot details for Grotesquerie were revealed, of course.

Just last month, Nash-Betts was awarded the Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited Series for her work in Murphy’s Dahmer series for Netflix. Nash-Betts prevailed over a field that included fellow nominees Annaleigh Ashford (Welcome to Chippendales), Maria Bello (BEEF), Claire Danes (Fleishman Is in Trouble), Juliette Lewis (Welcome to Chippendales), Camila Morrone (Daisy Jones & The Six) and Merritt Wever (Tiny Beautiful Things).

“I’m a winner, baby!” Nash-Betts, who played Dahmer’s suspicious neighbor Glenda, declared from the stage. “Thank you Ryan Murphy for seeing me.”
