Ryan Gosling is expressing his appreciation for stunt performers.

On Wednesday, the Barbie actor, 43, spoke about the key role played by stuntmen and women during an appearance at a special The Fall Guy screening at The Grove in Los Angeles following the movie's SXSW premiere on Tuesday.

"I was on a kid's action TV show called Young Hercules, and I've basically had a stunt double my whole life," the Canadian star told reporters about appearing in the Greek mythology series, which debuted in 1998.

"There's this sort of accepted dynamic where they come on set, they do all the cool stuff, they risk everything, and then they disappear into the shadows and we all pretend as though they were never there," he added.

"Everyone else on set gets credit, but there's just some sort of unspoken understanding that they won't. Well, that ends today!" Gosling added.

The actor was joined by the film's director David Leitch, as well as co-stars Emily Blunt, Winston Duke, Hannah Waddingham, and Stephanie Hsu at the screening event.

The eagerly anticipated movie has been adapted by Drew Pearce from the hit 1980s CBS drama of the same name and features explosions, high-speed car chases and falls from dizzying heights.

Gosling, who plays stuntman Colt Seavers in the film, made sure to give a special shoutout to his stunt double Logan Holladay and the rest of the team when asked how playing the character changed the way he looked at fear.

"It took like eight stunt performers to make one Fall Guy. And there were times where I was like, 'Should we be making a movie or robbing a bank?' Because this is kind of the greatest bank robbing team," he told reporters.

"Everyone had their own special skill, it was like the Avengers or something. And in fact, a lot of them probably were in the Avengers, if you look at their CVs. So it was just an honor to be a part of. I've benefited from their work and their help since, like I said, since I started," Gosling continued.

"So to be a part of telling their story, and in some small way, trying to reflect just how vital they are and how important what they do is."

Logan Holladay, who was the stunt driver for Gosling's character in the film, received a special honor during the movie after he set a new Guinness World Record by rolling a car eight and a half times during the 2022 production on the beaches of Sydney, Australia.

"He's buckling me into a car for a stunt he's about to do, and then he goes on to do eight and a half cannon rolls, which is a world record, and then he pulls me out of the car and pats me on the back for the stunt that he just did," Gosling told reporters of Holladay's achievement.

"In any other movie, you wouldn't know that. But in this movie you do. That's sort of the lack of recognition, the contribution that they make to cinema, to some of the best moments in this film, the best moments in films in general that we love so much," he added.

Following its SXSW premiere in Austin, Texas on Tuesday, The Fall Guy is in theaters May 3.
