When asked who his heroes were in his recent Men's Health magazine cover story, Gosling, without hesitation, credited his partner, Mendes, stating: "Well, Eva, obviously."

The Canadian actor also highlighted his uncle Bill's impact, recalling his support during a challenging time: "And my uncle Bill. When I was in school, he said, 'I'm gonna put all your achievements in a scrapbook.'"

He added: "I didn't want the scrapbook to stay empty. Uncle Bill believed in me at a time when I didn't really believe in myself."

Opening up about their family unit, Gosling shared that he and Mendes don't employ babysitters or nannies for their daughters, Esmeralda Amada and Amada Lee, who are turning eight soon.

According to a source close to the couple, the celebration was nothing short of "amazing," with the actor playing a significant role in making it special.

The insider who spoke to People magazine shared: "She seemed very comfortable turning 50. Ryan constantly tells her she's beautiful. He made her birthday very special."

In a recent appearance on "The Today Show," Mendes opened up about her decision to prioritize raising her children while Gosling continued his acting career.

Describing it as a "no-brainer," Mendes explained: "I'm so lucky if I could have this time with my children."

The actress shared that while she still works, she prefers not to act because "acting takes you on location. It takes you away."

"It was almost just like a non-verbal agreement that it was like, 'Okay, he's going to work and I'm going to work. I'm just going to work here,'" Mendes noted. "He went and he did his job. He just happens to be really good at his job. And he did it and he came home."

For his latest project, Gosling will appear as lead actor and executive producer in the action-packed romantic comedy The Fall Guy, which has a $125M budget and will hit theaters in the US and UK on May 3.

Gosling revealed the intense experience of performing a 12-story fall for a pivotal scene, admitting to blacking out.

"I think I blacked out for at least nine of those stories. I have a fear of heights, and I knew it was coming," the actor shared.

"The movie's called 'The Fall Guy.' We worked into the story that I would take a fall at the beginning. It was also important for me to experience what a moment in a stunt performer's life might be like if I was gonna play one," he added.

In preparation for the role, the  award-winning actor shared that he intentionally gained weight and "ate more."
