ESSENCE Magazine shines a spotlight on Russell Wilson, naming the football player “Sexiest Man of the Moment” in its latest issue. On the cover, the 35-year-old stands wearing. white top, brown fur jacket, multiple chains, and a watch set.
“Russell Wilson’s talent knows no bounds. When you think you know what to expect, he flips expectations and pushes the boundaries of what we believe an athlete should be. Versatility, by definition, is the ability to adapt. Versatility personified is Russell Wilson,” describes the platform on Instagram.
“By refusing to let conventional restrictions box him in, Wilson has helped to break the mold of what the modern sports star can be.”
Speaking to writer Okla Jones, the Pittsburgh Steelers player discussed his career, his faith, and his marriage to R&B singer Ciara. Together, the couple parent four children.
“When I asked her to marry me, once she said yes, I said, ‘Before we go do this, can we pray? I want to make sure we always put God at the center of it all,’” he detailed. “And so I think the thing that hopefully exudes from our love is that, listen, love is never perfect. But we continue to try to put God first and pray over each other. We have these four beautiful children that we get to raise every day and it’s the greatest gift in the world.”
The quarterback is the second man to be featured on ESSENCE’s Sexiest Man of the Moment cover with the debut of Damson Idris on Tuesday (April 19). The magazines are set to be available on newsstands later this month.
