RuPaul's Drag Race season 10 star Kameron Michaels has finally returned to social media following a year-long absence with emotional news about an ADHD diagnosis.

"I haven't posted anything in a very long time. I wanted to share something before I post anything else, that's very important to me, and a very big deal to me," Kameron said Friday on TikTok, marking the entertainer's first social media post in 10 months. "October, is ADHD awareness month. Recently, this year, this late in life, I was diagnosed with ADHD."

Kameron went on to call the symptoms of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder — which, according to the American Psychiatric Association, can include inattention and excess movement — "astronomically more complex and more difficult" than many people think.

"ADHD didn't sound like a big deal to me before I was diagnosed. To me, ADHD meant you're hyper or you can't focus," Kameron explained. "Seeing videos of other people talk about their symptoms and how they deal with it in day-to-day life brought me to tears."

The Tennessee native hasn't been active online since December 2022, and even deleted all Instagram photos that depicted drag.

Kameron clarified the reason for the absence, and promised to return to regular posting in the near future.

"This diagnosis has changed my life," elaborated Kameron. "I feel like I'm reintroducing myself because I'm meeting myself for the first time. I'm excited to be back and excited to share some things that have gone on in my life."

Kameron rose to national prominence on season 10 of RuPaul's Drag Race in 2018, ultimately finishing the competition as a runner-up behind eventual winner Aquaria.

"I was a little reserved and quiet, and, of course, when you see me step on stage it's a different persona that comes out. I had to fight that the whole season," Kameron told EW after being eliminated. "I don't want to say I worked harder than anybody else. I think I had to prove my worth when the spotlight came up."

After leaving the show, Kameron went on to star in the Drag Race Live! Las Vegas stage show, and appeared as a regular cast member on VH1's spinoff series RuPaul's Drag Race: Vegas Revue.
