‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ Unveils Season 16 Queens

“RuPaul’s Drag Race” has unveiled the queens competing in MTV competition show’s sixteenth season.

The 14 queens, which include Miami’s Mhi’ya Iman Le’Paige and Morphine Love Dion, will compete in the newest installment to win the title of “America’s Next Drag Superstar” and a cash prize of $200,000. The new season will also air aftershow “RuPaul’s Drag Race: Untucked” immediately after new episodes launch.

As “Drag Race” returns to MTV on Friday, Jan. 5 at 8 p.m. ET/PT with 90 minute episodes, the show will also celebrate its 15th anniversary after first premiering Feb. 2, 2009 on Logo.

Splitting the premiere into two parts, the queens will immediately jump into the competition with the iconic talent show Maxi Challenge, which will feature themes of MTV’s Spring Break and the “Queen Choice Awards.” After the performances, the queens must “Rate-A-Queen” as they rank the competitors’ contestants to determine the week’s tops and bottoms.
