RuPaul's Drag Race Recap: Who Gave Good News — And Who Just Gave Up?
If you still think The View is the most vicious talk show in all of daytime, you clearly missed Friday’s episode of RuPaul’s Drag Race.

With their princess days behind them, the remaining contestants were split into two teams, each responsible for producing a live daytime talker. But before we get into that mess — and it was truly a mess — I have a quick question for the group: Could these nasty queens be any more jealous of Valentina?
At the top of the hour, Aja — who barely survived elimination last week and has no right to be speaking such things — and Alexis Michelle targeted Valentina out of nowhere, telling her she was “misjudged” and that they don’t get the hype. Fortunately, she saw their hate for exactly what it was: “Aja’s true colors are coming out,” Valentina noted in a confessional. “There’s a lot of insecurity there.”
(The craziest part about all of that, of course, is that Aja and Alexis allowed their jealousy to distract the queens from the competition’s real weakest link: Farrah Moan.)

As I mentioned before, the daytime talk shows — Good Morning, Bitches and Not on Today — were both nightmares in their own right. Aja and Valentina’s “chemistry” on GMB made me want to crawl in a hole and die, while the ladies of NoT totally bombed their group interview with Naya Rivera.
And the drama continued backstage: Peppermint threw some shade at Eureka for having a “big personality,” Eureka made a joke about eating disorders that rubbed Sasha Velour the wrong way, and Aja finally apologized to Valentina. (Oh, I guess that last part was actually a good thing. Snaps for Aja!)
Following a runway show of “naughty nighties,” which was — as Michelle Visage noted — an even split of bedtime-wear and bondage-wear, Sasha and Shay Coulee were crowned the winners of the daytime death-match.

As for the life-or-death lip syncing, Charlie Hides and Trinity Taylor faced off with two wildly different takes on Britney Spears’ “I Wanna Go.” And by “different takes,” I mean Trinity danced her ass off… while Charlie literally stood in place, looking like she’d rather be anywhere else. Naturally, the episode ended with Charlie sashaying away.
Like you, we wondered what could have possibly possessed Charlie to seemingly give up as soon as the song began, and here’s what he told us: “I had never heard the song before and didn’t know the words to it. I knew there wasn’t a chance in hell that I could sell something I didn’t know. I also had a broken rib from the cheerleading thing, so I couldn’t move. … I just thought, ‘I’m going to give authentic 2007 Britney Spears: I’m dressed like a slut, dead behind the eyes and I’m lip syncing terribly.’ Job done!”
Still, Charlie doesn’t believe this was her time to go. In addition to thinking that Peppermint should have been the one to face off against Trinity, Charlie is especially disappointed that she won’t get to participate in this season’s round of Snatch Game: “My Joan Rivers and my Lana Del Ray — either of them would have been epic.”
