RUI Explores Body Figures and Silhouettes in FW23 "Towards The Endless Flow" Collection

New York-based Chinese designer Rui Zhou showcased her Fall/Winter 2023 collection titled "Towards The Endless Flow" at Galerie Bertrand Grimont during Paris Fashion Week for her eponymous label RUI, exploring body figures and three-dimensional silhouettes.

The latest runway show was an extension of the buzzy creative's signature style, featuring body-hugging knits with cut-out detailing. The opening look came in a beige and pink palette, with a bodysuit paired with a midi-length skirt and a pair of fuzzy trousers. In true RUI fashion, ultra-mini bras were layered with fishnet dresses while a black crop top came with circular cut-outs revealing a gray layer underneath. The top saw contrast with a curvy, three-dimensional belt wrapping around the model's waist -- an element that was further explored in the form of bags and attachments on dresses and tops.

In addition to shapes, Zhou played around with textures throughout the collection with velvet, wool, mohair and cashmere making appearances on the runway. Bodysuits were contrasted with puffer boleros, with wool and cashmere knits offering a fall and winter-friendly take on the designer's signature ribbed knits. The runway closed with a gray velvet dress with mohair trimmings on the hood and sleeves, offering a dramatic silhouette with a train.
