Rufus Wainwright joins Kyle Meredith for a live taping of Kyle Meredith With… to talk about the 20th anniversary of Want, his double album (when both parts are combined) that found the artist coming into what he views as his true self.

The singer-songwriter gets into his issues with the music business and its current state, calling it “vapid and predictable.” Not only that, he takes shots at his first producers, along with diving into how he doesn’t understand Taylor Swift or why his daughter is such a big fan of her music.

“My daughter is really into Taylor Swift right now so I’ve really been going through the education of that,” he says of Swift’s music. “It’s fascinating. I wanna remain open-minded and I think it’s very impressive what she does, and there’s a lot of stuff I could never even dream of accomplishing. On the way to school it’s a constant thing and there’s certain songs I like more than others… It hasn’t happened for me yet with Taylor, but I’m not saying it won’t.”
