Five top film makeup and hair awards contenders will reveal secrets behind their projects when they join Gold Derby’s special “Meet the Experts” Q&A event with 2024 awards contenders. They will participate in two video discussions to premiere on Thursday, December 7, at 4:00 p.m. PT; 7:00 p.m. ET. Bio: Lori McCoy-Bell was an Emmy winner for “Westworld.” Other projects have included “Silver Linings Playbook,” “American Hustle,” “A Star Is Born” and “Nightmare Alley.”

Napoleon (Sony / Apple Original Films)

Synopsis: The spectacle-filled epic details the checkered rise and fall of French Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte and his relentless journey to power through the prism of his addictive, volatile relationship with his wife, Josephine.

Bio: Jana Carboni’s career has included “Hugo,” “The Martian,” “All the Money in the World” and “House of Gucci.” Francesco Pegoretti was an Oscar nominee for “Pinocchio.” Other projects have included “Trust,” “Carnival Row” and “Chevalier.”

Oppenheimer (Universal)

Synopsis: The story of American scientist, J. Robert Oppenheimer, and his role in the development of the atomic bomb.

Bio: Luisa Abel’s career has included “American Sniper,” “Dunkirk,” “Knives Out” and “Obi-Wan Kenobi.” Jaime Leigh McIntosh was an Emmy nominee for “The First Lady.” Other projects have included “Black Panther,” “Bombshell,” “Blonde” and “Avatar: The Way of Water.”
