2023 was a massive year for HBO Max, as the streaming service officially re-launched as a new platform, merging with the former Discovery+ streamer and rolling out in May. Now known as “Max,” the streamer is now home to some of the biggest releases of the year, from the final season of Succession and the live-action Barbie movie, to several critically-acclaimed series, including the Game of Thrones prequel House of the Dragon, The Last of Us, and White Lotus.

Max subscribers can now also watch live sports and live news on the streaming service, which starts at just $9.99 a month, with more films, TV episodes and 4K content than the former HBO Max, according to the brand.

Unlike streamers like Hulu and Amazon Prime, Max doesn’t currently offer a free trial (though, we’ve outlined some ways you can get it for free below). The only way to watch content on Max.com though is to pay the regular monthly subscription cost.

If you pay the standard monthly rate, you’d spend an extra $20 or $30 on your Max subscription, depending on if you go with the ad-supported or ad-free package, so the annual deal is a solid savings.
Max does occasionally offer streaming deals and promo offers like this one (I.e. for Cyber Monday) but they are few and far between, so this is the best Max deal you’ll find online right now.
