The Children’s Foundation of Palm Beach County is collaborating with the Royal Poinciana Plaza to kick off its third annual Walk the Walk event with a shop and sip benefit Friday at the plaza’s east courtyard.

Running from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., guests can expect a luxurious shopping experience featuring a Rosé Bar and selection of drinks and small bites compliment of the Plaza.

The event will also feature a 23-item auction, with items ranging from a Veronica Beard Miller Vicky jacket to a private tour of the New York Stock Exchange for four including a lunch at a members only Stock Exchange Lunch Club.

However, the shopping doesn’t stop Friday, as collaborating stores will be donating portion of the proceeds made during the week of Dec. 8 to Dec. 15 to the foundation. Participating stores include Fivestory, Frame, Zimmermann, Kirna Zabête, Crémieux, Rani Arabella, Veronica Beard, Lingua Franca, Theory and Loveshackfancy.

Co-chairing the event are Sharyn Frankel, Barbara Stoller Wittenstein, Linda Schaps and Beth Schlager.

After a night of shopping, guests are encouraged to join the Children’s foundation on Saturday for the Walk the Walk event, part of the Garden of Life Palm Beaches Marathon Weekend.

The event begins at 9 a.m. with a family friendly festival at Post Park on Datura Street in downtown West Palm Beach. The jamboree will feature food stations, balloon animals, face painting, stilt walkers and photo booths.

The walk begins at 10 a.m. and will take place on Flagler Drive along the scenic intercoastal waterfront.

“We are delighted to hold the walk again this year to raise money for Palm Beach County’s children,” said Frankel, who also co-chairs Walk the Walk. “There are so many underserved kids in the area that need our help.”

Tickets are $50 for adults and free for children, with participants receiving a walk T-shirt, walk finisher medal, food and drinks. VIP tickets are also on sale for $150, which include all the benefits of general participants plus valet parking and VIP lounge access.
