How Royal Families Are Spending The Festive Period

Royals, they're just like us right? Well, maybe not quite. My holiday festivities usually involve daily outfits consisting of ugly Christmas sweaters, The Grinch slippers, and tacky decorations, along with massive amounts of food and classic Christmas movies.

However, for royal families, things can be quite a bit busier and more formal. For example, Christmas with the British royal family at Sandringham usually involves four or five outfit changes...a day.

How are royal families spending the festive period, leading up to Christmas this year?

The Duke and Duchess Of Cambridge

The Air Commodore Dawn McCafferty CBE RAFR recently shared on Twitter the Christmas card they received from the Cambridges this year. And, no matching ugly Christmas sweaters could be seen.

The Duke and Duchess posed on an old motorbike, with Prince George and Princess Charlotte sitting in the sidecar. Catherine signed the card, with a written not that said, "Wishing you a very happy Christmas and New Year."

Pictured was a happy and relaxed looking family and showed just how much the little Cambridges have grown in the last year, especially Prince Louis.

The Queen's Christmas Lunch

The Cambridges were also spotted attending the Queen's annual Christmas lunch at Buckingham Palace today and were all smiles as they arrived.

Also in attendance were many other members of the royal family, including Prince Andrew, who, as we all know, has stirred up quite a bit of scandalous controversy this year. Clearly, though, he is still welcome at family functions.

There was no sign of The Duke and Duchess Of Sussex who have not been seen since they began their 6-week break from royal duties during the holiday period.

Princess Charlene and Prince Albert of Monaco spent this morning helping out a charity. They joined volunteers from the Red Cross in Monte Carlo where they handed out Christmas presents, showing they were getting into the spirit of what the holidays are really about.

The royal couple is known to be quite active in helping out the Red Cross and were recently seen on Sunday at another one of the events.

They will spend Christmas this year with their five-year-old twins Jacques and Gabriella.

It was a big day for royal families and holiday festivities, as Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel of Sweden was also out for some Christmas cheer.

The royal couple stepped out with their son Prince Oscar so he could pick out a tree for the royal palace.

Students from the master's program at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences had trees lined up for the family to look at, and little Oscar was delighted as he was treated to a pine tree that was perfect for his size.

I'm sure we'll be in for even more festive news this week from all the royals as we count down to Christmas.
